I do not agree.
The best way for Israel to end the hostage crisis was to stop rewarding the hostage takers.
This is simple.
No need to strike hamas..,cut eletricity..,

Besides if Israel does that it will be acused by everyone US included of collective punishment.

The way forward was stop rewarding hostage takers. Stop deals with hostage takers.

I disagree.
If israel cut electricity..,water to Gaza.., everyone including US would criticize israel.
Israel.., not Gaza.., would be the one under fire.
The best way to stop the hostage crisis is to stop reawarding hostage takers.
Sharon traded with hezbollah hundreds of prisioners for a israeli businessman and a few corpses in january 2004.

This only increase the resolve of Hezzbollah to have more of the same.

In 2006 Hezzbollah did strige and got more hostages.

The scene repeat itself.
Israel reward Hezzbollah again.

This will never stop untill Israel refuses to reward the kidnappers.

To cut water to Gaza is unpratical and impossible.

Israel would risk to have sanctions imposed against it.
Bad situation for Israel.
