TO ALL AM ISRAEL
No sooner did we conclude our celebration of our united Holy City then Ms. Rice intoned in her admonishing way that all building in "East Jerusalem" must stop!!
Either Ms. Rice is terribly ignorant of the history of Jerusalem, the Land of Israel and the region, or she chooses to believe Arab propaganda or she is one of the western appeasers referred to so eloquently by Senator John McCain.
Just a quick reminder to the State Department and Ms. Rice: When the eastern part of Jerusalem was illegally annexed by Jordan in 1948, the Jordanians denied access to the Jewish people to our holy places in east Jerusalem, expelled our people who lived there for generations, desecrated our holy sites, including synagogues, and the ancient Mount of Olives Cemetery. Jerusalem – all of Jerusalem – is our ancient capital for over 3,000 years. That’s where both our First and Second Temple stood before there was Christianity (2,000 years), before there was Islam (1,300 years) and we, the Jewish people, never gave up our rights to our Land and ancient capital Jerusalem!
Now, as one outrage follows another, "UNESCO has designated Jerusalem as Arab Cultural Capital of 2009"!!! (Jerusalem Post, May, 30, 2008 City Front)
Israel must confront and expose Arab propaganda for the Big Lie that it is.
We, Israelis may no longer sit on the side lines and pretend that there exists good will on the part of the Arabs
